Frequently Asked Questions
How do directories work?
Whoever creates a directory is its administrator. Only the administrator can invite and remove members. Everyone who joins the directory gets each other's contacts. That's it! Pretty simple.
Why create a directory?
First of all, it will save everyone in your organization from having to input and update each other's contacts. Creating a directory is also a really good way to get your friends on Atomic Contacts. Instead of everyone having to request and accept each other individually, everyone can just join the directory and immediately be connected to everyone else.
If I join a directory, who will see my information?
Only directory members, who must be invited by the directory admin.
Why the name Atomic Contacts?
Originally, we were trying to think of something that implied indivisibility; something that was singular; change it somewhere, it changes everywhere. Atomic clocks are the type of clocks used to set all other clocks. Likewise, Atomic Contacts are used to set all other instances of your contact information. Critically, the domain name was available.
What happens if I link my Facebook account?
Linking your Facebook account will:
- show you your friends who have an Atomic Contact
- let you invite friends who have not signed up yet with a wall post
- allow us to make more relevant contact suggestions
- add your Facebook profile picture to your contact
- optionally post a notification on your wall when you update your contact
Linking your facebook account will not give your friends on Facebook access to your Atomic Contact. As always, they will have to send you a request on Atomic Contacts, which you will have the opportunity to accept or decline.
We will never post anything on Facebook without your permission.
